Cookie & Similar Technologies Policy
How BANQAM uses cookies and similar browser technologies — and how you stay in control.
1. What these technologies are
In this policy, “cookies” also includes similar technologies: small values a website stores in your browser, such as HTML5 local storage, and comparable storage or access technologies used by BANQAM or by providers we work with.
These technologies let the app remember your actions and preferences, keep you signed in, and keep the services you use secure.
2. Why BANQAM uses them
BANQAM uses these technologies to keep you signed in and your session secure, remember your preferences, understand how the app is used, and — if you arrive via a referral link — credit the right person.
3. Essential technologies
These are required for the app to work and cannot be switched off. They include:
- authentication and sign-in session storage
- platform configuration required to load and run the app
- security and fraud prevention
- technologies required by regulated flows you explicitly request, such as connecting a bank account through Stripe Financial Connections
Essential technologies stay active whatever you choose.
4. Functional technologies
Functional technologies remember choices such as language, calendar, theme and layout on this device. If you decline them, the app still works: it uses defaults for the current visit and does not remember your preferences.
5. Analytics technologies
First-party platform analytics help us understand how the app is used so we can improve it. Analytics is off unless you allow it.
6. Marketing and referral attribution
If you open a referral link, we may remember the referral code so the right person is credited. This is off unless you allow it. Referral records already created server-side are not altered.
7. Third-party technologies
BANQAM does not use advertising trackers, social media pixels or third-party analytics. Almost everything on BANQAM's own pages is loaded from BANQAM's own services. If you choose to open a third-party link (for example a WhatsApp share link), that service operates under its own policies.
8. Stripe-hosted services
Payments and identity verification take place on Stripe's own hosted pages. While you are on a Stripe-hosted page, Stripe may use its own cookies and device technologies according to Stripe's own privacy documentation. BANQAM does not control those pages or their technologies.
9. Stripe Financial Connections browser technology
When you explicitly ask to connect a bank account, BANQAM loads Stripe's Financial Connections technology in your browser for that flow. Stripe's security and fraud-prevention technologies are essential to that flow and are loaded only when you start it — never on ordinary BANQAM pages.
10. Managing your preferences
You can review and change your choices at any time via “Cookie preferences” in the site footer or in the More section of the app. A consent notice also appears the first time you visit.
11. Withdrawing consent
You can withdraw consent at any time by switching a category off and saving. We then stop using that category and remove the optional values stored by BANQAM on this device where it is safe to do so. Your sign-in session and security settings are not affected.
12. Browser controls
You can also control or delete cookies and browser storage through your browser settings. Blocking essential technologies may prevent sign-in and core features from working.
13. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to how we use these technologies, we will update this policy and, where required, ask you for a new choice.

BANQAM is a financial technology platform operated through the applicable BANQAM group entity based on jurisdiction and the services provided.
